Veterans Benefits
The ALS Association is working daily to support people with ALS and their families, including our heroes who have served in the military. This is an area of special importance, since veterans are nearly twice as likely to develop ALS as those who have not served.
Our veteran resources section is designed specifically for veterans with ALS, their families and survivors. It offers news of importance to veterans with ALS, including information about historic new regulations from the Department of Veterans Affairs, which establishes ALS as a service connected disease. Learn what benefits are available, how to apply for those benefits, and receive answers to frequently asked questions about the new rules.
The section also provides links to resources and tools veterans can use to take part in the advocacy efforts that can and do make a difference in the fight against ALS. Efforts that have helped improve benefits for veterans and advance research toward treatment and a cure.
