Working at The ALS Association

The ALS Association is dedicated solely to the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Our mission is to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.

As the leading ALS organization, The Association pursues its goals through research, care services, advocacy, various development programs, and public information and education. The national organization is actively involved in funding and directing a global research program for a cure and for the introduction of new therapies that will significantly improve the quality of life for people with ALS.  The Association’s largest fundraiser, The Walk to Defeat ALS®, raises funds for care services programs, research and public policy efforts on the national, state and local level.
