Dad was still a strong, active man volunteering his many talents, spending time with his seven children, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and fixing things when ALS suddenly stopped him. Within a year he was gone. I despise this disease for taking my dad who was otherwise so healthy. He always was a hero to me. ALS did not tarnish that one bit. He faced it down with amazing courage and left this place with every one of his children and the grandchildren surrounding him in his own home. If vets can't have prevention or a cure, may they all have that love and support.
