Resource Groups

COVID-19 Announcement

Due to the rising concerns about COVID-19 in Northern Ohio, the ALS Association Northern Ohio Chapter has canceled all non-essential face-to-face contact, including home visits and in-person attendance of resource and caregiver groups until further notice. Alternatively, we will offer virtual visits and groups.

We encourage people planning to participate in our virtual groups to contact the care services coordinator who is leading that particular group:
- Lisa Bruening: [email protected]
- Amber Johnstone: [email protected]
- Stephanie Sassano: [email protected]
- Kelsey McClain: [email protected]

We remain committed to meeting your needs. If you feel you will be in need of additional or alternative support during this time, please contact your care service coordinator.

2022 group meeting Schedule

To receive the virtual meeting link, please contact your care service coordinator.
Due to increased demands, Zoom strongly recommends using your computer audio rather than dialing in. Please use dial in only if a computer connection is not available.

Please note: schedule is subject to change. If you are interested in attending a meeting, it is recommended that you contact the office (216-592-2572/888-592-2572) or your regional care coordinator to confirm the date and time.

Resource Groups Update

The pandemic has brought many changes to the way we provide resource groups. Although we all wish we could be back to our in person meetings, it isn't in the cards just yet. In order to continue supporting the ALS community safely, we will offer all group meetings on Zoom. The group calendar looks a little different this year, but we hope the changes will provide you with more opportunities to connect with other families impacted by ALS.

Changes include, inviting all persons livings with ALS and their loved ones to all Resource and Education meetings, regardless of your location. We hope this will allow you to meet and chat with a larger group who might not live locally to you, but might have more in common with you. In response to comments and answers received in the recent survey, we will continue to offer special topics with guest speakers but will also provide time for open discussion and more informal conversation between group participants. We really appreciate your input on these changes and hope they help to support you and your family while you live (and work) with ALS.

*Please note that dates are subject to change and may be rescheduled to accommodate office closures and holidays.
