Voice Banking

The ALS Association in the areas of District of Columbia, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia have partnered with the voice banking company, Acapela Group, to provide funding and support for members of the ALS community to complete the voice banking process. Voice banking is a way for people living with ALS to create a personalized synthesized version of their natural speaking voice for use in a speech generating device. Through our Assistive Technology Equipment Loan Program, we’re able to provide the appropriate equipment for people with ALS to complete the voice banking process. Some people may never need this personalized voice, but you and your loved ones will appreciate this priceless service and peace of mind with the option of preserving your vocal identity. An Assistive Technology Specialist will coordinate the necessary equipment and provide support through the voice banking process.
