Volunteering is a powerful way to make a positive impact in any community. And when it comes to supporting people impacted by ALS, each and every volunteer action makes a difference.

Every year, thousands of volunteers across the country provide support in delivering our mission. Recognizing their vital role, we are committed to ensuring their involvement is positive, impactful, and meaningful.

If you're looking for opportunities to support our ALS community, here are several ways you can get involved!

  1. Volunteer at Events: We host numerous events nationwide throughout the year. When you sign-up to volunteer for an event, you help us create an unforgettable experience for participants, families, and supporters. Visit our website for upcoming opportunities near you. This is also a great opportunity for volunteer groups.
  2. Help Plan and Coordinate Events: Event planning committee volunteers play a crucial role in organizing and delivering community events in collaboration with our staff. There are many ways to help, even if you do not have event planning experience! Volunteers assist with event logistics, promoting events in their network/ community, recruiting participants, connecting with potential sponsors, and brainstorming ideas to make it a special experience.

    Become-an-Advocate

Become an Advocate: As a volunteer advocate, you'll amplify awareness, drive advocacy efforts, and provide vital support to people living with ALS and their caregivers. Write letters, call elected officials, or meet with political leaders to share your story and what inspires you to support the ALS community. Volunteer advocates receive training on how to support these efforts.

  4. Provide Care and Support to People Living With ALS: Opportunities to support individuals living with ALS and/or their caregivers vary by location. If this type of volunteer activity interests you, please reach out to learn more about local programming in your area.
  5. Help Raise Awareness: Spread the word about ALS and our mission in your community. Share information on social media, host an awareness event, or simply have conversations with friends, family, and colleagues to educate them about the challenges faced by those living with ALS.
  6. Help with a Special Project: There are other ways you can share your time administratively and/or with special projects. These opportunities may vary by location and needs within your community.

We could not do what we do every day without the help of our many volunteers. Throughout this month and beyond, we will be sharing inspiring stories from many of our volunteers across the country. We hope you will follow along with our blog and social media channels and join us in thanking all of the amazing people who volunteer their time to support our mission.

Please take a moment to complete a Volunteer Interest Form. You never know the ways in which your experience, special skills, or unique insights may help support the ALS community!
