Centers & Clinics

The ALS Association collaborates with some of the best ALS physicians and clinics in the country to ensure that Arizonan’s with ALS have access to cutting edge medical care in a supportive, family-oriented atmosphere.

The unique multidisciplinary care model of the Certified Centers of Excellence and affiliated clinics brings together a team of specially trained medical professionals to meet the needs of those living with ALS, allowing the patient to receive care from each discipline during a single visit.

This multidisciplinary team typically includes: a neurologist, nurse, respiratory therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, dietitian, social worker, psychologist, and a palliative care expert.  An ALS Association Chapter liaison also serves as a member of the team, working closely with clinic staff to assure that the comprehensive needs of each family are being met.

Affiliated Clinics

It is important to note that other models of care are necessary to meet the needs of all people living with ALS. There are ALS clinics located in Arizona that provide treatment and care based on a multidisciplinary model. These clinics may be affiliated with and/or supported by a private foundation, a university medical system, the Veterans Administration or another non-profit organization. Some clinics may offer opportunities for people living with ALS to participate in research.
