Lou Gehrig Day

The ALS Association is proud to support the 2nd annual Lou Gehrig Day! Major League Baseball and its teams have been great partners to the Association and its chapters over the years through our #StrikeoutALS initiatives. For example, the Philadelphia Phillies have raised over $19 million for the Greater Philadelphia Chapter and the New York Yankees have been long supporters of the annual Lou Gehrig Dinner benefitting the Greater New York Chapter. We thank all the teams who have supported our chapters over the years and are thrilled that every team will now be celebrating Lou Gehrig Day and the ALS community.

Hall of Fame baseball announcer Bob Uecker and his wife lost their daughter Leann to ALS earlier this year. In honor of Leann and another close friend they lost to the disease, Bob is lending his voice to help raise awareness and enlist others in the fight against ALS.
