Digital Art with Liz Stanley
Ready to try something new? Whether you can draw a straight line or not, this class is for you. Learn the basics of how to create art using an easy-to-use app that will be determined later and communicated with you if you sign up. Art can be created in so many ways using this app.
This class will get your creative juices flowing while you learn the tricks on how to use this app. This class is for any person living with ALS regardless of artistic experience and physical abilities. Liz will support any accommodations needed while you learn and develop your artistic skills. The ALS Association can provide additional devices and the app needed to engage in the online class. If hands-on assistance is needed, we invite you to have a caregiver present to assist you.
Please only register one spot for the person attending who has ALS.
Instructor Bio: Liz Stanley is the Arts Program Manager at the ALS Association, creating this Creative Pursuits program, which was the vision of Ken Baltes, bringing creative experiences to people living with ALS. She lost her best friend to ALS three years ago, who was an amazing artist. This inspired her to bring her passion for the therapeutic power of creation to people living with ALS.
Liz’s background has been in art education, teaching preschool to adults, in every medium, for the last sixteen years. She recently moved back to the states after seven years teaching abroad in Turkey, Cambodia and Costa Rica with her husband and two children, ages thirteen and nineteen. Liz enjoys technology and loves learning and sharing her knowledge of tech tools, she has her computer engineer father to thank for that. She is excited to help you navigate the world of digital art as you find new ways to create even with the limitations that may affect you now or in the future.
