Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown LLP - The Original Sponsor

In Memory of Michael Guerin as told by Jan Kaufman

When Jeff Kaufman was diagnosed with ALS in 1989, the Wisconsin Chapter of the ALS Association was just a small group of dedicated volunteers. This changed with the support of Mike Guerin and Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown Law Firm.

Jeff was a partner at this firm and had worked there since he graduated from law school. Immediately after his diagnosis, the law firm put all their support and power behind the chapter. Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown had media connections bringing Channel 6 into the mix to share the message and mission of the ALS Association. They used connections to bring big names like Bob Uecker to the Chasin’ a Cure Tailgate at Brewers games and took care of all chapter legal needs.

Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown was one of the first ALS Association Wisconsin Chapter event sponsors and continues to support events today. Jeff’s wife Jan describes their support as “moving the chapter to a different level.”

Support like theirs is no surprise when a man like Mike Guerin is behind it.

Mike was also a partner at the firm and in addition to financial support, he was a friend of the chapter, attending events including the Evening of Hope. Everyone who knew Mike knew him as always having a smile on his face. He would attend every important event from birthdays to funerals. He was a good man and a great friend.

His loss will be felt among the ALS community.
