Flash Fiction Series

The Loft Literary Center will host this online class taught by Jessie Sholl, an experienced writer.  Short short stories, often limited to a single page, have become very popular and are a great way to hone your skills for setting a scene, describing a character, and hooking readers.

This class is for any person living with ALS regardless of writing experience and physical abilities.  Liz will be present to support any accommodations needed while you learn and develop your writing skills.  The ALS Association can provide additional devices needed to engage in the online class.  If hands-on assistance is needed, we invite you to have a caregiver present to assist you.

Instructor Bios: Jessie Scholl's essays and stories have appeared in The New York Times, The Daily Beast, Salon.com, Other Voices, Fiction, and Lit, among other publications.

She is the author of Dirty Secret: A Daughter Comes Clean About Her Mother's Compulsive Hoarding (Simon & Schuster), and co-editor of the literary nonfiction anthology, Travelers' Tales Prague and the Czech Republic (Travelers' Tales Press). Jessie holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the New School University in New York, where she is a Part-Time Assistant Professor. She also provides writing coaching and editorial services.

Please only register one spot for the person attending who has ALS.
