Quantum Continues Partnership With The ALS Association

Washington, D.C. (June 10, 2019) — Quantum Rehab, a leading manufacturer of complex rehab power wheelchairs, recently renewed its role as a national partner with The ALS Association, marking the company’s seventeenth year fighting with the Association to make sure people with ALS can live their lives to the fullest. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Eventually, people with ALS lose the ability to initiate and control muscle movement, which often leads to total paralysis and death within five years of diagnosis. For unknown reasons, veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS as the general population. There is no cure.

“Quantum Rehab is delighted to once again partner with the ALS Association,” said Linda Decker, Manager of Partnerships and Advocacy for Quantum Rehab. “Our endeavor is to empower people living with ALS through the use of our state-of-the-art equipment, focusing on mobility and quality of life. We appreciate the dedicated efforts of The ALS Association as it seeks to address the needs of those living with ALS through advocacy, research, and its many diversified programs.”

Through its partnership, Quantum will support national events including Walk to Defeat ALS events across the country throughout the year, the 2019 National ALS Advocacy Conference in June that will bring together hundreds of ALS advocates to push for better public policy and greater public funding for ALS research, and the Association’s seat lift grant program.

"Our partnership with Quantum over the years has helped empower people living with this terrible disease. We appreciate their ongoing support and are grateful they are renewing their commitment to keep our momentum going," said Tina Zeff, executive vice president of development of The ALS Association.
