Oklahoma ALS Boot Camp

Join us on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at First Christian Church, 629 NW 12th St. Moore, OK. This hands-on training and educational program is specifically designed to increase awareness of the needs of those with ALS, as well as provide the tools necessary to boost the confidence and skills of caregivers and family members. ALL individuals with ALS, family members, children andfriends are invited and welcome.

Participants will:

  1. learn practical coping strategies and skills to manage the disease effectively
  2. meet and interact with highly qualified professionals/clinicians
  3. practice techniques which will inspire and promote confidence when dealing with equipment
  4. experience hands-on guidance and support from health experts
  5. increase confidence and competence
  6. share, support and receive encouragement from other ALS community families and caregivers

There will be sessions/presentations throughout the day specific to patients, family caregivers and children. Snacks will be provided. Plan now to join us for this training experience and embrace the challenge of kicking ALS!

Windycrest Regatta

Windycrest Sailing Regatta - Saturday, September 10, 2022

Tulsa Walk to Defeat ALS

Join us Saturday, October 1, 2022 for the eighth annual Tulsa Walk to Defeat ALS at Will Rogers Stadium at Henry Frnka, Jr. Field. We are looking forward to have you join us as we gather together again in-person! Oklahoma ALS Connect and Support Groups: Summer Schedule 

Our Connect and Support group schedule for the summer months is going to look a little different as we can meet again in person.  Please make note of the groups that we will be offering both in-person and virtually. We will be re-evaluating this at the end of the summer to ensure that we are meeting everyone’s needs. As always, JoCarolyn will be sending out a reminder the week of the group meeting to ensure that you do not miss an opportunity to attend. 

JULY

  • Wednesday, July 20, 6-7 p.m. – Caregivers Happy Hour – VIRTUAL 
  • Tuesday, July 26, 7-8:15 p.m. – Bereavement Support Group – VIRTUAL*
  • Wednesday, July 27, 6-7:30 p.m. – OK Support Group-4th Wednesday – VIRTUAL

* The Bereavement group will be led this summer by Anne Supplee, MDiv from the MN ALS Association Chapter, and is open to anyone who feels that this would be beneficial.
** All groups will resume this Fall after Labor Day beginning the week of Sept. 12th.
