My brother Vicente Pernisco, a retired Marine was diagnosed with ALS a month before his 40th birthday. As a veteran of the Gulf Wars we were told that there is a connection of military service and ALS. Vicente's diagnosis given in March of this year, has turned our world upside down and yet we feel so grateful for the support he has been given by so many friends, friends of friends and complete strangers. I encourage everyone to help support the ALS Association so that we can speed up the discovery of a cure!
