My husband, Scott, served in the army for 13 years. He loved his army time. He served overseas and got to experience so many places and met many amazing people. He left the army in 1992. We married in 2011 and Scott was healthy and enjoying life. He soon decided to go to nursing school. In 2015 he started having difficulty walking. In early 2016 with only a year to go for his dream to become a nurse, he was diagnosed with ALS. I progressed rather rapidly by the end of year he was in a wheelchair. He was mostly cheerful and always counted his blessings. He passed away in August 2018.
