I recently retired in Dec 2016. Prior to my retirement (Nov 2016) I fell off a ladder in my garage and had TBI. It appeared that I recovered from the fall but I noticed I could not run like before. Last year March, I started noticing that I was having difficulty walking. About 3 months later my legs got stiffer and I began to slur in my speech. I had a series of MRIs of my brain, spine and neck nerve conduction test on my arms but no diagnosis until 3 weeks ago, after going to a second neurologist at UTSA diagnosed me with ALS. The medicine prescribed makes me sleepy. Working on adjusting it.
