Joseph was born in 1925 and joined the army in 1943. He trained at Camp Crowder in Missouri. He served in the signal corps in both Europe and the Pacific. He served until 1946. His ALS was diagnosed in 2010, when he was 85 years old. He died on June 17, 2012.
