My father, Jack Moran, served in both WWII and the Korean War. He was stationed on the USS Auburn and Siboney having seen action in Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2005. Despite all the cruelties of the disease, dad was able to keep his faith and his spirit. He was determined to see my son graduate from Villanova and attend my mom's special birthday celebration. Dad passed away in August 2008. Although he did not get to benefit from the bill for Veterans with ALS, he would be the first to cheer its passing. We were so lucky to have been raised by such a loving, caring man!
