I served in the Navy onboard the USS John F. Kennedy from 1974-1978, during the Vietnam War. I was a radioman on the carrier. I went into civil service following my service and retired after 38 years of service. I married my high school sweetheart and we have one son. I was diagnosed with ALS in December 2015. I am unable to use my arms, hands or legs, but can still talk and swallow. I am in hospice now and consider myself blessed that I had an opportunity to serve my country and have had a wonderful life with my family.
