Gary enlisted right out of high school and served 14 years in the Corps. As a Vietnam Nam vet he came back to civilian life and became a Springdale OH police officer and served for 28 years. He retired in Feb 2013 and was diagnosed in Dec 2014. He survived only 18 months. He and his family became great advocates for ALS, especially in trying to be sure needed medical equipment be made available to everyone, anyone who is diagnosed. The VA was very good to us but there are so many who ares still in great need. We continue to honor his memory by continuing this work.
