I had a very rewarding Air Force career serving primarily as a jet fighter pilot that included 127 combat missions in the Vietnam War. My overseas assignments were in Germany, Thailand and England where I served over 3 years with the Royal Air Force. Throughout the many service moves I had the very good fortune to have with me my best wingman - my wife Cornelia. No matter how turbulent our lives became trying to manage the daily challenges of career and family, Cornelia stayed glued to my wing helping me and our 3 sons Fred Jr., Scott & Neal. Since diagnosed with ALS, my wingman is still there
