ALS Centers and Clinics

CERTIFIED TREATMENT CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE:

The ALS Association highly recommends that individuals with ALS attend an ALS Specialty Center or Clinic. The ALS Association recognizes these regional institutions for their in-depth diagnostic services and the health care professionals assigned to the team. Visits are typically scheduled quarterly at which time the person with ALS is seen by specialty physicians and nurses, therapists, dieticians, and social workers. These health care professionals can provide updated medical assessment and intervention, suggestions for maintaining health, adapting to changes in speech, muscle strength and daily living skill, information about local community resources, and considerations for future planning.
