LUKi is a joyful robot living his best life when he starts to notice signs that parts of his body are malfunctioning. After a visit to the doctor, LUKi is diagnosed with ALS/MND. Amidst his heart-wrenching challenge, he courageously confronts ALS/MND on his own terms with the support of his friends.
Created by our partners, Global Neuro YCare (GNYC), Big Grin Productions, and Anjo Snijders & Sascha Groen who wrote the story. This film was created to support families, care givers, and children of loved ones living with ALS/MND. LUKi & the Lights is completed with no dialogue, only sound, to ensure families could view it world-wide.

Sascha & Anjo
When Anjo Snijders was diagnosed with ALS in 2017 at the age of 35, he and his wife Sascha realized the vision of their future with their two young children in the Netherlands was forever changed. Both teachers by trade, they began to look for resources to help explain their daddy’s illness but found little if anything. And with that, the story of Luki and the Lights was born.
