Melissa More

Melissa Moré joined The ALS Association in February 2023 as Managing Director of Volunteer Engagement for the Southeast. Melissa has a Master’s in Public Health with a focus in Social and Behavioral Science and a Bachelor’s in Advertising/Public Relations. While attending graduate school, she had an opportunity to work on two grants that focused on women living with disabilities having access to preventative healthcare and healthcare providers receiving training on providing accessible screenings.

Prior to joining The ALS Association, Melissa spent twelve years developing volunteer programming as Director of Volunteer Services for Suncoast Hospice/ Empath Health. She led the creation and expansion of specialized volunteer programming to serve individuals with a life-limiting illness, caregivers, and the bereaved. Additionally, she served six years on the Volunteer Management Steering Committee of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization creating educational and mentoring resources for hospice volunteer managers. She brings with her a passion for engaging volunteers in supportive services, advocacy and outreach - all centered on the needs of persons impacted by ALS.

As a volunteer advocate, she also serves her community as a volunteer. She serves on the Management Team for Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin, Girl Scout Troop Co-Leader, and Girl Scouts of West Central Florida Volunteer Awards Council.
