Tom became a member of the Chapter’s Board of Directors in 2018. He is a Partner at RK&K with 34 years’ experience as a leader, mentor and designer overseeing transportation planning and design in 23 offices throughout the East Coast. In 2002 he was named Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers, Maryland Section for his exemplary work on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge project. A native of Baltimore, Tom earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Lafayette College in 1984. He is a registered professional engineer in Maryland, and 12 other states, and has been an active member of the American Consulting Engineers Council of Maryland, serving as President in 1997, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Tom is a passionate ALS advocate, supporting the cause in honor of his brother Emile who lost his battle to ALS in 2017. In addition to his duties on the board, Tom also participates in the Baltimore Walk to Defeat ALS® as team captain of The E-Team.
