Senate Vote Shifts Fight to End SSDI Waiting Period to House

Capital building

The U.S. Senate on Wednesday passed the ALS Disability Insurance Access Act – a huge success that would not have been possible without the tireless advocacy of ALS advocates across the country. Thank you for every action you took to make this vote a reality!

Now that the bill has passed in the Senate, we’re closer than ever to securing immediate access to SSDI benefits for people living with ALS. The ALS Disability Insurance Access Act is cosponsored by 302 representatives and has the support to pass. The House has scheduled a vote the week of 12/7. Ask your member of Congress to vote YES on the ALS Disability Insurance Access Act.

This hits really close to home, as my uncle was diagnosed with ALS and has since passed away.
