About the Joe McGuff Golf Classic
The annual ALS golf tournament originated in 1983 by former Royals player and Baseball Hall of Famer, George Brett, and was known as the George Brett Celebrity Golf Classic. In 2003, this premier tournament was renamed in honor of the great Kansas City sports writer, Joe McGuff. For 40 years, this event has continued to entertain guests, while raising much-needed funds for research and care services. Each foursome will enjoy lunch on the course and golf. After golf, attendees will enjoy dinner. Funds raised allow the ALS Association to provide a comprehensive array of programs and services to people living with ALS, their caregivers, family and friends. Our goal is to raise awareness and funds that help reach our goal to make ALS a livable disease for everyone, everywhere, until we can cure it.
